Last week was another enjoyable one with Kendal Marie. Marnie did get a disturbing phone call during the week from our daycare provider. Kendal got her first haircut... unintentionally of course. Apparently, one of the older kids at our daycare got her hands on some scissor's (long story) and managed to snip off a part of Kendal's pigtail in the front and another portion in the back. A picture is below; I don't think we got all of it back though.

Her hair is just not the same anymore and we are contemplating a real haircut. I know it could have been much worse but the whole situation really stinks. We are glad it is only hair we are talking about as that grows back.

Other than that little incident, things are going great. Kendal has the vocabulary of a 2 year old which we can only attribute to her many weekends alone with daddy playing with her. :>. She is starting to put together phrases and short sentences; pretty neat. Maybe it is all the football she watches?

Marnie and I celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary together last weekend. We didn't do anything special just had a relaxing evening together at home. Pretty surreal on how much we have done together and been thorough since we first started dating in 2000. I would have to say we are happier than ever and we could not be more in love. Like all couples we have our issues (note to self: stay away from Marnie in the morning :>), but this last year we have grown closer together than ever. Kendal was just the icing on the cake. Alright, enough mushy talk. Kendal pics below:

Another two weeks gone, summer is almost over, my golf league is done next week, next thing we know it will be snowing! How depressing. Hey, at least football season starts tonight! Woot!

Two weekends ago, we all packed up and made a long overdue trip to Cleveland. I got to play in a golf outing with Timmy and Marnie took Kendal to see her dad and sister. Kendal got to spend plenty of time with my parents as well since we stayed that their house. Overall, a fun and relaxing weekend; just too short when you spend half a day on the road.

Last weekend Marnie had to work except for Labor Day and by then she was exhausted from working all those 12's in a row. Marnie's sister and Aunt Maggie came to visit Kendal though. We all had a great time... I spent all day Saturday and a part of Sunday working on my car... it was so nice to have the extra help with Kendal, that project would have taken me weeks otherwise. Kendal did great as always!

Nothing else much new... Kendal is as cute as ever. We think she is going through another growth spurt as she was tossing and turning most of last night. She looked taller when she woke up this morning. :>

Go Tribe!!!

Kendal, Greg, Sarah, Ben, and I went to the Indians vs. Tigers game last night. We had a great time. Seats were awesome, behind the plate (Thanks Metaldyne!). It was hot and sticky downtown but the kids did great. They stayed up past 10pm as well. Troopers! Pictures below:

Wow, two weeks flew by so fast... so here is a Kendal update:

Kendal is doing great as always... still going to bed early and sleeping through the nights no problem. Her vocabulary is up to about 20 words/phrases and she is not only walking great, she has learned to all out sprint (much quicker than mom I must say :>). She is really starting to develop some problem solving skills as well. When challenged with something, she initially gets frustrated, but tends to calm down and figure it out. Pretty cool, yet scary as we really have to keep a close eye on her. Marnie said this morning she already figured out the child proof locks I spent hours putting on all our cabinets!

Two weekends ago we went to a party and hung out with our friends Isis and Fil. Kendal was great; she passed out early and slept through all the noise (and fireworks!). Too bad she woke up extremely early (~5am) and did not want to go back to bed (strange place I guess?). So, we went home on only a couple hours sleep (boo!). Good thing she took a morning nap!

This past weekend, we went to the Melon Fest (big party in downtown Howell) and then my parents came to visit Kendal which let me get some stuff done around the house. This weather is making me think of winter! Nooo! Maybe its time to take to pool down?

Today, I got a nice lunch surprise at work as Marnie brought Kendal in to visit and take me out to lunch. A nice way to break up the day I must say.

Recent pictures and a few videos are below:
As always there are plenty of Kendal pictures on Little Ben’s and Miss Maddy’s blogs too… take care everyone!

Kendal and I had a great weekend together... we really didn't get much accomplished (I re-gripped my golf clubs) but that’s ok sometimes. She is really starting to become a riot to hang out with. She learns new words every week (Snoopy and Maddy this weekend!), and is starting to understand when she is doing something she should not be. For instance, I caught her in the litter box this morning with a handful of you know what and when I told her “No”, she said “No” right back to me, then ran away and continued to pout (currently buries her head in the carpet a cries). She did not go back in there the rest of the day.

Another no no this weekend was her climbing on top of the ottoman and jumping up and down. It was way too cute to yell at her, but I took pictures (below), I will let Marine be the bad cop for that one. Each night she goes to bed so easy for me, as always she tells me "night night" when she is getting tired, so I make her bottle and let her drink it upstairs in her room (I hold her in the rocking chair). When she finishes it completely (antibiotic in there), I tuck her in with her baby (currently favorite toy, made of soft cotton and satin) and she calmly snuggles up and closes her eyes. That makes my day, everyday. Overall, a great weekend.

Mike Kendal and I enjoyed another beautify weekend here in Michigan. We went to Kensington Park on Sat, to take a bike ride and to cool off in their new water park. The water was a little cold but it was still fun. The entire bike trail around the lake is about 8 miles, about 5.5 miles into the trail we saw a sign that said trail closed ahead. So, we had to turn around and go back the way we came. Our 8 mile bike ride turned into 11 miles. Luckily Kendal slept about a hour of the ride.

Sunday, after I cut the grass and Mike worked on edging, some how Greg talked Mike into putting up the pool Kendal got for her birthday. It was finally filled up around 6 last night. None of the adults were brave enough to jump in, so we talked Oliva and Brendon into swimming in the pool. After about 10 minutes the poor little mouths were chattering so badly they had to get out. We enjoyed a nice bar-b-que with our friends. Then Mike and I stayed up watching a shark documentary, looks like I am never snorkeling in the ocean again.

Today Kendal, Sarah, Ben and I packed a small picnic and headed back to Kensington so the kids could play in the water. The water was much warmer today, and since it was so freaking hot here it was actually refreshing. Kendal should have taken a nap before we went; Sarah finally got to see a crabby Kendal. All was going good until a girl turned around to fast and knocked Kendal over. Kendal was OK, except for a fat bloody lip; she must have bit her lip when she fell. We packed up and headed home, we weren't even out of the parking lot and Kendal was already snoring, Ben soon followed. Kendal is acting fine after her nap this afternoon and the fat lip is gone.

Kendal's new word for the week... Mike. Enjoy some new pictures. Feel free to leave comments.
