August 7th, 2006 – Kendal discovers her mobile and the wallpaper border in her room!

Kendal looking at the bears! We took a short video as well of this experience. Click the link. She makes a small peep toward the end.

Kendal marveling at Snoopy! Marnie enjoys this as Snoopy was her favorite as a child... actually Marnie still loves anything Snoopy. :>
August 4th, 2006 – Kendal is 2 months old! This parenting thing gets more interesting every day. Her personality has really started to shine. She is making all kinds of new sounds and squeaks. We think we are going to have a talker on our hands! As well, she is starting to make some pretty neat facial expressions and smiles all the time. She can definitely support herself sitting up for a length of time now. When on her belly, she can do mini push-ups. This is all so cool. Below are some highlights from month two!

Kendal enjoys a visit from Auntie Mandy

Aunt Maggie came up to Michigan as well!

Who does my hair?

Another one?

A cute one of Kendal with daddy after a long day at the office...

Kendal is ahead of the curve taking on the jumperoo (ages 4 months and up). Oops!
July 23rd, 2006 – Maddy is one month old! Things are going well for Jaclynn and Jason as well.

July 20th, 2006 – Kendal’s 1st vacation! Well, since I have an extra week of vacation as of this year, we figured we would use it while Marnie was off as well. We drove up north to Hillman, Mi and stayed in a cottage right on the water of Fletcher's Pond. Trust me, this was no pond! 9000 acres of stump filled water. This apparently used to be an old forest that was flooded when a dam was built. The trees were obviously cut after! I found out after about 30 seconds on the water that you should not go fast in the boat! We spent a day in Alpena, Mi as well. Marnie really enjoyed the ship wreck exhibit we went to see. Apparently, Thunder Bay (Lake Huron) has more than a few boats on the bottom. As you all know, Marnie and I love to fish, so this was the perfect trip for that.

Daddy caught the big fish of the trip

Kendal yawning in the boat!

I'm sorry, Marnie caught the biggest fish! he he

O.K. she did catch a couple nice ones

Kendal taking a nap on the pontoon we rented.

Here is a link to see "Kendal's Fish Call". Too bad daddy doesn't even know when he has a fish hooked or not! Turn the volume up as she makes the sound right at the beginning in the first 10 seconds of the video.

July 16th, 2006 - Kendal is 6 weeks old! She changes every day; what an experience for all of us! At this time, we are really focusing on the daycare hunt. I don't think we could manage on a single income forever. Besides, Marnie is really looking forward to interacting with people her own age again... ha.

Here is a good one of Kendal wearing sunglasses for the first time!

Another of Daddy and Kendal in her cute Nike dress

July 8th, 2006 - Kendal's first time on a boat! While daddy was getting thrown off the tube behind Greg and Sarah's parents speed boat, Kendal was chilling on the pontoon with mommy.

Here is Kendal and Maddy later that day.

July 7th, 2006 - Daddy gives Kendal her first bottle! Well, breastfeeding is obviously tough on a mom... besides, we wanted get our moneys worth out of that $300 breast pump! This was pretty cool for me.

Kendal gulped down her first bottle like a champ!
July 4th, 2006 – Kendal is one month old! She is starting to show signs of her personality! She is definitely aware of her surroundings as she reacts to sounds and peoples voices now.

Kendal in the tub... this is a G-rated version. We now have some blackmail bait for the future :>

Kendal and Cheeto. He does not mind her at all...

Kendal fell asleep during tummy time!

Our favorite from the professional (Walmart :>) 1 month pictures we had taken of Kendal
July 1st, 2006 – Kendal's first trip to Cleveland! The long car ride was a breeze with Kendal. Cheeto gave us more trouble than her. He has been great with Kendal so far though... we never had any doubts! He is very protective as any family member is of a new arrival. The trip was great as we all got to see so many people as my mom threw a "meet and greet" party for Kendal.

Grandma Schmidt and Kendal Marie!

Great Grandma Schmidt and Kendal... wow!

Kendal's cousin Dylan... feeding the fish

Cheeto!
June 28th, 2006 – Kendal's first play date with Miss Maddy! They had a blast.

What cuties! Who's bigger?
June 25th, 2006 - Week 3... Daddy is back to work now, so mommy is all on her own. She did great though!

Funny picture on Kendal sleeping awkward on Marnie's lap
June 23rd, 2006 – Kendal’s first friend has arrived! Madelynn Marie Kreider was born @ 11:08 am. Jaclynn and Jason live just a street over and have been great friends of ours since we first moved into the sub. We look forward to our little girls growing up together.

Marnie and Maddy at the hospital when we visited that evening... Wasn't Pizza House good... Greg and Sarah?

Maddy all buckled up ready to go home

9lbs 8oz. - Sorry Jaclynn :>
June 18th, 2006 - Week 2... things are going great and I am still off work. Mom is getting really good at this parenting thing, she always knows what to do and never ever gets frustrated... me on the other hand, took a little longer to get in the swing of things. It was nice to spend a lot of time with Kendal while I was off. When she slept I actually got a bunch done around the house that we have been meaning to do.

This picture captured an unforgettable moment... daddy doing his best to calm a crying and crabby Kendal. Look at them eyes.
June 11th, 2006 - 1 week old and almost sleeping through the entire night... she has never looked back since. We have to be the luckiest parents ever! We get more sleep now than we did when Marnie was pregnant.

One of our favorites from the first week
June 4th, 2006 – Well, today was the best day of our lives! Kendal Marie Schmidt was born 8lbs 6oz., 21.5” long at 1:32 in the afternoon. She was born at The University of Michigan Hospital… sorry Dad. Go Bucks! Marnie did great… 32 hours of labor! Everything went well and we were home within 24hours.

This is our favorite pic that everyone knows so well…

Her first time getting fingerprinted (actually her feet), hopefully her last; lets hope she doesn’t take after daddy!
