Santa likes to go fishing?

We have definately been enjoying my new work schedule, being off on the weekends could get expensive. But we have been doing lots of family stuff.

We had an uneventful Thanksgiving here in Michigan. Mike was the only one who eats thanksgiving type food, so I did a lot of cooking for one person. After afternoon naps, Kendal and I snuck out to the movies to see Tangled in 3D. It was a cute movie, and Kendal looked adorable in her little 3d glasses. I quickly dropped her off at home and off I went on my annual Black Friday Shopping. Jaclynn and I left at 9pm and I finally came home around 9:30 am. It was a lot of fun. We met some really nice people in line and we got all of the big items we wanted. I can't wait till next year.

I think we have to say we are now a true Michigan family. We brought our kids to Bass ProShops to see Santa, no mall Santa for this family. We got to look at fishing stuff, boating stuff, look at stuffed bears, skunks and tons of other animals while we were waiting our turn. I actually had a good time. But seriously how many families do this to get pictures with Santa. Both girls sat with Santa and told him what they wanted without tears this year.

We had our first snow this past weekend. Only about 1/2 inch, but enough to get snow pants on and play outside. I have a strange feeling we will be spending a lot of time outside this winter.

No tears this year

The Legend Of Sleepy Howell

Took the kids to "The Legend of Sleepy Howell" tonight with the Kreiders. I think this is our 5th year in a row. Good times and lots of candy. Hayden for sure gets her rhythm from daddy... watch the video. Weather was great. Also a couple pics from last weekend when we took a trip to Kalamazoo to visit Auber.

Well this is a first since we started this Blog over 4 years ago. We went over one month without a post. We have just been having so much fun that it is hard for us to sit at a computer and upload all this stuff.

Marnie and the girls went to Milford Memories, basically an art fair. It was one beastly hot day, but they enjoyed it. The girls got their faces painted, which started something with them. Now any time they see a booth, they want their faces painted.

Over Labor day weekend, we decided to use up our free passes to the Saginaw zoo. It was supposed to be 85 and sunny all day. Boy was the weather man wrong, it was cold and drizzling rain most of the day then huge thunderstorms started just as we were leaving the zoo. The girls enjoyed milking a fake cow and trying to squirt us with the "milk", which was really water. The big thrill of the day was the riding the merry go round as we were leaving.

Mike and I enjoyed Pat and Nicoles wedding in Cleveland in September. The girls stayed with Timmy and Megan and had a great time. After we picked them up in the morning we headed to the Akron Zoo. A first for all of us. Aunt Mandy and Aunt Maggie met us there. We were all suprised on how nice the zoo was.

The next day we went to a health fair at Medina Hospital. Hayden was so excited to see SpongeBob. She gave him high fives and a big hug. Kendal wanted nothing to do with him. Both girls got their faces painted again, and they won us a free pizza and a dozen donuts. We can't complain.

Mike took the girls to Spicers Orchard one weekend I was working. He met up with the Kreiders and one of our new neighbors Eric and his family. By the pictures it looks like they had a ton of fun while I was stuck at work.

Then a few weekends ago we did our annual visit to Spicers with all the neighbors, with the kids in costumes. Hayden's costume wasn't finished yet so she wore a different one. It was nice to get together since we have moved away. They kids had a good time playing, riding horses and once again getting their faces painted. By the end of the day when we were doing pictures, lets just say just like the other years our kids didn't want to cooperate. We managed to get a few pictures with all the kids, well minus Mckynzee, she didn't want to dress up.

Last weekend Mike's parents came up to visit. They got to take the girls to a pumpkin hunt at the local metropark. This place has a man made pond which they built a tunnel under the water so you can see everything. It is really cool to look when the water isn't green.

Mike's new baby. Too bad it is already stored for the winter. The Happy Hooker will be a permanent resident at our house in the spring.
